Aims and Scope

The Great Commission Research Journal began publication in 1990 under the title Journal of the American Society of Church Growth, changing to its present name in 2009. It is published by the Great Commission Research Network, an association of practitioners and scholars focused on helping churches to obey Jesus and to grow, both spiritually and numerically. This group of professors, church consultants, and other Christian leaders meets once a year for a conference presenting research with the same scope as this journal: evangelism, church-planting, church growth, spiritual formation, church renewal, worship, and missions.

The scope of the journal includes scholarly, original, and high-quality research focusing on evangelism, church-planting, church growth, spiritual formation, church renewal, worship, or missions. Articles come from both members and non-members of the Great Commission Research Network and are generally unsolicited submissions, which are welcomed and will be considered for peer-review. There is no charge for submission or publication.
